Claire BELLEVAUX

It is in Malval, a small hamlet in the commune of Dardagny, that we set off to meet Claire Bellevaux. On her estate, alongside her arable crops, Claire carefully cultivates ten varieties of grapes, including Chasselas, Gamay, Merlot, Pinot Gris and Viognier. Her vineyard, a beautiful gem in the Geneva countryside, is partly situated on the steep slopes where her family’s property is situated.

Claire has been involved in winegrowing for as long as she can remember, having been introduced to it by her father back then. Fully committed to her work on a day-to-day basis, Claire forges her own path with determination, simplicity and generosity. For her, the grape harvest remains a time rich in emotion, the fruit of rigorous labour shaped by the cycle of the seasons.

The Bellevaux estate’s relationship with the co-operative dates back to 1946. Since then, a strong bond has developed, now deeply rooted in the family’s DNA. Claire is undoubtedly a dedicated, positive and hard-working member of the co-operative. She naturally gives her time to support the activities of the Cave de Genève. The grape harvest festivals and autumn festivals are regularly attended by our winegrower, who is also wholeheartedly involved in community life.

What’s more, as an outstanding pastry chef, Claire takes great delight in treating the staff at La Cave to something special on each of their birthdays, much to their delight. To round off this culinary note, amongst the wines she holds dear is the Pinot Gris Doux, Clémence. This delicate bottle is a gentle and elegant testament to Claire’s passion and hard work in the vineyard.
